Tell Them of Jesus - Lesson One

Introduction:

a. The giving of gifts is an art form in any society. For example, one must understand the value of a gift before he understands the significance of the gift.

b. The significance of a gift is not determined by the receiver but by the giver. Until the receiver appreciates the significance of a gift, he is not in a position to appreciate the significance of the gift.

c. If the receiver thinks of the value of the gift only in selfish terms (considering only what the gift means to him), he may miss the significance and value of the gift.

d. Think about the gift of telling others about Jesus!

I. Tell them of Jesus:

a. How God’s Love Brought the Son into the world -John 1:1-5.

b. How God has given the Son to have life in Himself- John 5:25-36.

c. The Greatness of the love that prompted the Giving – John 3:16.

ii. GOD SENT His MESSIAH WITH a realistic expectation that someone would listen to him and make the choice to be reconciled to God:

A. When he was born, the angels told them of Jesus - Luke 2:9-14.

B. When Jesus was presented at the temple, Simeon told them of Jesus -Luke 2:25-35.

C. At 12 years of age, Jesus told them about his father’s business - Luke 2:46-49.

D. WHEN JESUS approached John the baptizer, John told about Jesus - John 1:29-34.

iii. Have you ever seen the patience of God in your salvation, as you were able to hear again someone tell you about Jesus? – II Peter 3:8,9:

a. Have you ever considered how long God endured in order to give you opportunity to be reconciled to Him?

b. Have you responded to God's patience by making your choice to be reconciled to Him?

c. God gives you the time right now to receive this precious gift of salvation!
